When we are not busy with open houses or with just staring at a planet or two, we do some serious, high quality observing for astronomical research.
Currently, we have a high school intern taking data on SZ Hercules, an eclipsing binary star. With this data, we hope to be able to get the star's light curve and find its period.
Other research projects at the observatory have included quasars, T Tauri Stars and variable stars.
